Peter & Julia | Marin Headlands, California
Peter and Julia are a creative, ambitious, and fun loving couple. Undeterred by rain or cold, they loved, laughed, and danced with their close friends and family in one of the most beautiful places I’ve photographed.
Nestled in the Marin Headlands, the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts is a decommissioned military base that was transformed into an artist-in-residence space and gallery. When Peter and Julia walked me through the space before the wedding, I think I told them at least 10 times how awesome the patina on the walls looked and that the window light was to die for. Marin Headlands wedding photography is easy when you have such great people and locations to work with. Coming from Seattle, the rain and weather was quite normal for me, and it was second nature to use the soft light that the cloudy skies provided for clean, clear, portraits and candid photos.
Peter and Julia are not only best friends, but true soul-mates. When their friends sang an acoustic version of Bob Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’ during the ceremony, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. I really enjoyed spending time with Peter and Julia and their amazing friends. I know Peter and Julia will have an incredible marriage.

One Frame | Alyssa
One frame from a wedding last weekend at Herban Feast. I just love Alyssa’s Vera Wang wedding dress. The detail and the folds and pleats were really amazing.
Alyssa and Aaron’s wedding was gorgeous and I can’t wait to show more soon.

Why I shoot with film
Film has soul. Film has feeling. Digital has it’s purpose but film satisfies me. That is why I shoot film at every wedding to create timeless photos for each couple.
Brett + Katie | Camano Island, WA

The day was crisp, clear and cold … but beautiful in a way that only the Pacific Northwest can be.
Brett and Katie’s wedding at Cama Beach Cabins in Cama Park on Camano Island embodies their love of the outdoors, nature and wildlife. Hence the wonderful duck cake topper complete with wedding gown for the hen and the stylish top hat for the drake. Both Brett and Katie are loving, gracious, and kind people who wanted a tight-knit and intimate wedding by the sea. Their wedding was a joy to shoot and really made me yearn for a camping trip out to the coast. Maybe this summer!
The Cama Beach cabins were once fishing cabins built in the 1930s. It is only recently that the area has been renovated by the national park service to allow people to stay in these cabins and have events such as weddings there. If you are interested in having your wedding in a newly opened area rich with wildlife and the rugged beauty of the northwest, you should check this place out. It is amazing.

Ryoko + Mike | Seattle, WA

Ryoko and Mike are a gentle and soft spoken couple with a deep love for each other. I loved wandering through the UW Botanic Gardens with them at Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle. The leaves were changing color and the cool air of autumn mixed nicely with the warm sun. Later, we took some photos in an architect’s house who created movie sets. It was so much fun!
We made many great photos but these ones in particular stand out to me.

Greg and Ivan | Vancouver, Canada
Greg and Ivan traveled all the way from Hong Kong to get married in Vancouver, Canada. I’m so happy they did because their wedding was really special and I was honored to be there. With just their nearest and dearest relatives surrounding them, Greg and Ivan married at Seawalk Park on Dundarave Beach followed by dinner at the Beach House. It was a gorgeous afternoon and evening not to mention stylish and absolutely fun. I wish you both the best.
