Eileen and Jonathan | Poulsbo, Washington
Once in a while in a wedding photography career you shoot a wedding that etches itself in your mind for all time. Eileen and Jonathan’s wedding is one of these rare weddings. Their Kiana Lodge wedding photography encapsulates everything that makes the Pacific Northwest a special place: the rocky shorelines, sweeping old growth forests, and the various cultures that shaped the Pacific Northwest and called it home.
Kiana Lodge is on Native American tribal land but also situated in Poulsbo, a community founded by Scandinavian immigrants. This unique mixture of cultures made this a wedding to remember as the friends and family gave elaborate Swedish toasts and played traditional Swedish games, while surrounded by totem poles, tribal masks and traditional Native American woven cedar baskets.
In this environment I could see the love that Eileen and Jonathan have for both the Pacific Northwest and their shared Scandinavian culture.
This love permeated every part of this wedding and I can say that the entire day was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you again for having me as your wedding photographer.
