Mastin Studio Featured on Polka Dot Bride
Thanks to Polka Dot Bride for featuring one of our favorite engagement sessions. I photographed Tiffany and Paul at Snoqualmie Falls last year on a gorgeous day. If you’re not familiar with the location, it’s where the famous Twin Peaks t.v. series was filmed. It’s a fabulously picturesque spot. Check it out.

Spring Fever| Engagement Coming Soon
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. We certainly did. Part of what made it so great was the incredible weather. I know the rest of the country is under massive amounts of snow, but, here in Seattle, it really seems like Spring. Sunday was the absolute perfect day for an engagement shoot with lots of sun and dramatic skies. Here is a picture of Robin at Pike Place Market just after the photo shoot. She couldn’t resist picking up some flowers from one of the vendors.
The photos from that session will be coming very soon….
Valentine’s Giveaway Winner | Congratulations Adrienne!
I was touched to read so many great stories and ideas from our Valentine’s Day giveaway contest. Thank you all for participating and I wish I could take photos for each one of you. I really do.
This year’s winner is Adrienne who sent in this letter:
“My fiancé and I are getting married in spring 2011. We both love the outdoors and some of our most romantic getaways have been backpacking trips. We love the feeling of standing on top of a mountain, alone, where we can see the whole world around us. It makes you feel alive! I want our engagement photos to capture our love of adventuring together.
Somewhere like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/shorty_jooce/3397158836/in/set-72157616101176008/ but with me instead of beef jerkey.
Although I know it’s not feasible to take a photographer backpacking, I think a great photoshoot would be at the top of a mountain, or somewhere else relatively remote where you can see into the distance. I’m going to be spending this summer in Seattle for work, and I’ve heard there’s great backpacking in the area. I’m not familiar with Seattle yet, but there must be some nearby mountains where you can drive most of the way to the top & then take a 20-minute hike to a place with a view. My fiancé can carry all the equipment if necessary — he’s great at carrying things up mountains. “
I’m excited to make some great photos for Adrienne and her fiance who will be here this summer and who share a love of the outdoors.
And watch out. I MAY take you up on the offer of your fiance schlepping my gear up the mountains!
*Stay tuned for pictures from the shoot*
Jacqui + Scott | Tacoma, WA
I’d like to introduce you to Jacqui and Scott. They are a special couple. They are adoring. They are fun and free-spirited. They are also creative and adventurous. Jacqui and Scott met in art school about 6 years ago. Today, they are engaged and run a successful handmade paper goods company. And, as you can see, Jacqui and Scott are fantastic models. Not once did they seem awkward or camera shy. On the contrary, they were engaging and up for anything. They endured the pouring rain with smiles. Their feet froze while shooting their Tacoma Museum of Glass engagement photography, but they never complained. It was a fun shoot. And, personally, I like the gray skies. Jacqui and Scott do not need a sunny day to beam. They do that naturally.

Schweitzer Mountain Wedding Photography | An Amazing Outdoor Wedding Venue
I love photographing weddings. And traveling to fantastic locations is just one of the many benefits of my job. There are some locations, however, that are truly near and dear to my heart. Sometimes, the settings are so spectacular that it’s even more special. One of those locations is Schweitzer Mountain. Schweitzer Mountain is located in Sandpoint, Idaho. It’s a place I know well. I’ve photographed dozens of weddings there. Each one is memorable. And it doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s bright and sunny or pouring rain. It’s always picturesque.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from Schweitzer Mountain. Enjoy.
